Shelton Man Shot Landscapers With Pellet Gun: PD

He apparently wanted to get more sleep, police said.

SHELTON, CT — A Shelton man was arrested after he shot his neighbor's landscapers with a pellet gun so he could get some more shut eye, according to police.

Police responded to Tuckahoe Drive 10 a.m. Thursday.

Workers showed officers their injuries and said a man with no shirt and a rifle was in the window of a nearby address.

Jeffery Pate, 48, was identified as the shooter, police said.

Pate was charged with unlawful discharge of a firearm, third-degree assault, reckless endangerment and breach of peace.
