Shelton Police Officer Fired in 2020 Allowed To Return To Work: Report
A Shelton officer who was fired in 2020 can return to work nearly four years later after a recent court ruling, according to a new report.

SHELTON, CT — Caroline Moretti, a Shelton police officer who was fired in 2020 in connection to an investigation into photos posted to Facebook of officers changing outside, can return to work nearly four years later following a court ruling earlier this month, the Shelton Herald reports.
Her attorney applauded the decision and said her client was wrongfully fired in August 2020.
Moretti was one of six officers fired by Mayor Mark Lauretti over the course of several weeks in 2020.

At the time of the incident, Police Chief Shawn Sequeira said Moretti lied more than 20 times during an internal investigation centered on photos posted to the police union's Facebook page of officers changing outside.
In a termination letter obtained at the time by WTNH News 8, Sequeira wrote that Moretti staged a photo where she undressed down to her bra in the police department parking lot and had someone take a picture of her with her own phone.
