Shelton Resident Named to Fairfield County Business Journal's 40 Under 40

Sean Keating, a senior manager at McGladrey LLP’s Stamford office is a 2015 winner of the Fairfield County Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Award.

The 40 Under 40 Award honors emerging business leaders. Candidates are judged on their contributions to their specific industry or the position of authority they have achieved in their career.

Leaders in business and non-profits of all sizes and industries were considered.

“Sean has developed over the years to become a great asset and leader for our firm,” Tony Ceci, Connecticut office managing partner said in a press release. “He’s proactive, a great communicator and delivers on our client promise.” Sean is the second tax professional from McGladrey in Stamford to win this award in recent years. In 2013, tax senior manager Christa Clark received the honor.

Sean has more than 14 years of taxation, accounting and business consulting experience. His experience encompasses a range of industries including manufacturing, wholesale distribution, computer and professional services. He serves some of the largest McGladrey tax clients in the region.

Sean earned his Bachelor of Science degree in finance and accounting from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York.

“I’m very humbled to be recognized and proud of the work I’ve done at McGladrey to help people build their careers, as well as my own,” Keating said in a press release. “And I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to volunteer and serve my community.”

He is also an active contributor to the ALS Association of Connecticut, including as a member of the association’s board.

“Having cared for someone with ALS, I know how challenging it is for families,” said Keating, whose father died from the disease. “Anything I can contribute to making someone’s life easier or helping to fund research is very rewarding.”

Sean and his fellow award winners will be honored at Westfair’s 40 Under 40 celebration on June 25 at the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk.
