Shelton School Staff Reductions Likely Through Attrition

Teachers, an administrator position and other positions are scheduled to be eliminated.

SHELTON, CT — Shelton school officials believe that staff reductions can be made without resorting to layoffs, so long as the state doesn't make large cuts.

The school budget plan calls for eliminating eight teacher, one administrator and five non-certified positions, according to the Connecticut Post. Most if not all of the reductions can be made through attrition.

The budget is $1 million more than last year, but $1 million less than what was requested.
