The boys basketball team is looking for better things after last season's 4-16 finish.
The Gaels do have some experience returining with four seniors back starters Christian Pierre and Stefon Coram. Junior center Ryan Testani also is a returning starter.

Senior tri-captains Steve Torres and Kyle Packnick complete the first five for the Gaels.
Pierre was Shelton's leading scorer and rebounder last year, and coach Brian Gardoner also is hoping that the six-foot-5 Testani also can be force inside.

Shelton does need to improve its offense, however, as the Gaels frequentlly were held under 60 points last season.
Shelton got its season off to a good start Wednesday with a 52-47 victory over West Haven.
