Shelton Scores And Standings: Jan. 24

The basketball teams look to stop losing streaks when they return to action on Tuesday.

The Shelton boys, who have dropped two in a row, host Cheshire at 7 p.m., while the Shelton girls, who have lost three in a row, are at Lyman Hall (7 p.m).

The Gaels slipped to 4-7 following Friday's 58-48 loss to Amity.

Cheshire (8-4) had an eight-game winning streak snapped with a 54-46 loss against Branford on Friday.

The Gaelettes fell to 5-7 following Thursday's 61-49 setback to Cheshire. However, they have a good chance to get back in the win column as Lyman Hall is 0-2.

Still, the Trojans came close to get their first victory in their last outing, falling to Sheehan 32-30 on Friday.

Shelton Adult Basketball League Results

In ‘A’ division action, Danny O’s walked over Uptempo 87-66, Porky’s routed CDW 90-44, and Valley Orthopedics took care of business, beating KFC, 73-53.

EJ Walker had 26 for Danny O’s, helped by Justin Perieras. who registered 20 points.  Jason Foster was best for Uptempo, scoring 25. 

Keith Lewis and Rafael Cardosa carried their Porky’s squad, scoring 25 and 20 points, respectively. Glen Brown recorded 11 points, which was best for the low-scoring CDW squad. 

Brendan Prutting had an amazing game, putting up 30 points for Valley Orthopedic, assisted by Joe Debicella with eight points. Frank Skoronski had a solid game for KFC with 14 points.

In ‘B’ division play, Cahill Law got by Danny O’s 49-31, Total Comfort
passed Konowitz Kahn & Co. 50-38, and Zamba Graphics edged out the
Blanchette’s Pacers , 27-26.

Joe Martino and George Belade both put in solid efforts for Cahill Law, scoring 18 and 13, respectively, to lead their squad to victory. Dave Lazar recorded 12 for Danny O’s. 

James Kirby had an outstanding game for Total Comport, putting up 25 points, helped by Miguel Rodriguez, who had 10 points.  Joe Rossi had 14 for Konowitz. 

In a thriller between Zamba and Blanchettes, Mike Billingslea and Gary Feigenblat each put up eight points to lead Zamba, which scored the winning basket with four seconds remaining.  Centry Gamble had 11 points
for Blanchette's.
