Looking to build some momentum, the boys baketball team goes for its third straight win on Friday when the Gaels visit East Haven in a 7 p.m. start.

After starting 1-4, the Gaels have posted back-to-back victories over Bunnell (54-40) and Lyman Hall (53-37) to climb within a game of .500.

Shelton already is within one victory of match last season's entire win total (4-16).

East Haven also enters Friday's contest at 3-4 following Tuesday's 71-50 loss at Wilbur Cross.

The Shelton girls team hosts Amity (7 p.m.) and also is looking to reach .500. The Gaels improved to 4-5 following Tuesday's 64-46 victory over North Haven.
