Quarterback Dan Orlovsky may have no future with the Houston Texans after the team signed Matt Leinart to a $5.5 million contract.

The former Shelton High and University of Connecticut star has backed up Matt Schwab in Houston for the past two teams. But the deal for Leinart indicates that he likely will move up to the No. 2 signal-caller with the Texans, leaving Orlovsky without a job.

The Houston Chronicle reported that fifth-round draft pick T.J. Yates is expected to be the Texan's third-team quarterback if he performs well in camp and preseason.

Leinart has floundered in the NFL after a stellar career at Southern California and didn't take a single snap last season. Still, the Texans saw enough of him in practice and in the classroom to offer him a two-year contract.

Leinart can't officially sign until Friday - the first day unrestricted free agents can re-sign with their old team or sign with a new team.

Orlovsky has been in the NFL for seven years but has played in only 12 games, all with the Detroit Lions. His last action in the league was in 2008, when he passed for 1,616 yards and eight TDs in 10 games with Detroit.

Trumbull National defeated Shelton National 12-2 Thursday to capture the Littlefelllows Classic hosted annually by Shelton National.

Trumbull National, the top seed, reached the final with a 10-0 win over Fairfield American.

Shelton National, the No. 6 seed, advanced to the final with a 6-5 victory over Monroe.
