Shelton girls soccer players Angie Ferro, Mary Hunter and Megan Manzo recently were named to the 2011 All-Housatonic Team of the Southern Connecticut Conference.
The Gaelettes posted a 12-1-3 during the regular season to win the Housatonic Division championship. They were dethroned as Class LL state champions with a 1-0 loss on penalty kicks to Staples in the second round last Saturday.

Hunter was selected to the team for the first time while Ferro and Manzo were picked for the second time.
The Shelton players join Tabitha Brown, Allie Maier, Megan Howard from Amity High on the squad.

Also making the team were Alexandra Pelletier, Nikki Iadarola and Kelsie Carlette of Cheshire, Emily Newhard from Lyman Hall and Danielle Valente from Sheehan High School. The keeper for the team this season is Zoie Reed from Amity.
