Shelton Scores and Standings, Nov 9

Unable to defend its Southern Connecticut Conference title, the Shelton girls soccer team now turns its attention to winning a second straight CIAC Class LL title.

The Gaels suffered a 1-0 loss to Cheshire in the SCC finals on Saturday, only their second defeat of the season.

The start of state tournament in girls soccer was pushed back until Thursday.

The second round is set for Saturday, followed by the quarterfinals on Tuesday. The semifinals were pushed back until Nov. 18 with the finals now taking place on the weekend of Nov. 25-26.

The boys tournament begins Friday with the second round set for Monday. The quarterfinals will be played next Wednesday with the semifinals scheduled for Nov. 19. Like the girls, the finals are slated for Nov. 25-26.
