The Shelton boys soccer team, which won the SCC's Housatonic Division title last year with a 5-0-3 league record, opens its season Sept. 13 against Xavier.
The Gaels, who finished 9-1-6 overall in the regular season, lost in the second round of the CIAC Class L tournament to eventual state champion Farmington, 1-0.

Williams, Minotti Lead Caliente Past Downtown Danny O's
Dana Williams and Jess Minotti had three hits apiece to lead Caliente to a 9-6 win over Downtown Danny O’s Wednesday, Aug. 24 in a Shelton Women’s Softball League game at Shelton High.
Mary Piccirillo played outstanding defense at first base for Caliente, who is 7-3 and two games behind first place Porky’s (9-1). Porky’s lost for the first time this season to Mario’s by the score of 4-2
