After a pair of come-from-behind wins on the road, the Shelton football team hosts Notre Dame of West Haven on Friday (7 p.m.) in its home opener.

Last week, Connor O'Brien rushed for 240 yards, including touchdown runs of 80 and 25 yards, as the Gaels rallied from a 10-point halftime deficit for a 24-17 victory over Sheehan.

The week before Shelton, erased a four-point deficit in the third quarter to defeat Wilbur Cross, 27-18.

O'Brien has returned to the Gaels' backfield after taking last year off to play lacrosse.

Notre Dame of West Haven enters the contest at Finn Stadium with a 1-1 record. The Green Knights opened the season with a 36-7 loss to defending Class LL state champion Xavier, but rebounded to defeat Branford 43-13 last week.
