The Staples-Weston-Shelton boys hockey team concludes its regular season on Saturday against Cheshire at 8 p.m. at the Milford Ice Pavilion.
The Wreckers have endured an injured-plagued season, but they won their last two games after getting some of their injured players back.
After starting 6-1, Staples lost its next 10 games, dressing as few as 10 skaters for some of those contests, but the Wreckers snapped the long skid with a 6-0 win over East Catholic on Monday.
Staples (8-11) followed up that victory with a 5-3 win over Greenwich on Wednesday that enabled them to clinch a berth in the Division III state tournament.
