Shelton Adult Basketball League Results

In ‘A’ division action, Danny O’s got by CDW 63-54, Uptempo edged KFC 64-57, and Porky’s topped Valley Orthopedic 85-79.

Justin Perieras put in a strong effort for Danny O’s, scoring 17 points. Jeff Norko helped out by scoring 11 for Danny O’s. Bob Leonzo scored 32 points for CDW.

Jay Foster and Hector Garcia had big games for Uptempo, scoring 22 and 19 points, respectively. John Scanlon was best for KFC with 23 points.

Matt Pivovar had 24 points, assisted by John Danelski,  who had 20 points, for Porky’s. Nick Corkery recorded 31 points for Valley Orthopedic.

In ‘B’ division play, Cahill Law trounced Konowitz, Kahn & Co. 56-38, Zamba Graphics ran by Danny O’s 64-34, and Blanchette’s Pacers overcame Total Comfort 38-27.

Rich Kopec scored 25 points for Cahill Law, helped by Joe Martino, who scored 13. Greg DeStefano had 11 for Konowitz, Kahn & Co.

In Zamba Graphics win over Danny O’s, Ed Kochiss had 15 while Mike Hart had 14 points. Dave Lazar was best for Danny O’s, scoring 14 points.

Mike Festa and Centry Gamble had 16 and 14, respectively, for the Blanchette’s Pacers. James Kirby had 21 points for Total Comfort.

Theboys basketball team suffered a 61-47 loss to Amity on Monday.

David Moreland scored 16 points and Christian Pierre added 10 for the Gaels, who had a two-game winning streak snapped and dropped to 6-10.

Zach Cohen scored 16 points to lead Amity, which improved to 12-4. He was one of four Spartans in double figures as Zac Campbell and Matt Lettick each contrubuted 12 points and Kevin Russell chipped in with 10.

Amity jumped out to a 13-4 lead after the first quarter and extended its advantage to 30-15 at the half. Shelton closed within 43-33 after the third quaarter, but the Spartans put away the contest by outscoring the Gaels 18-14 over the final eight minutes.

Shelton needs to split its remaining four games to qualify for the state tournament.

The Shelton girls basketball team makes its third attempt to clinch a state tournament berth on Tuesday when the Gaelettes host Cheshire in the second of three straight home games.

Shelton fell to Sheehan 47-44 on overtime on Friday, dropping to 7-9 with four games remaining in the regular season. The Gaelettes host East Haven on Thursday.

Cheshire (12-5) had been on a major roll before Thursday's 56-47 loss to Amity snapped an eight-game winning streak for the Rams.
