Shelton Star Pin Fire Cleanup Continues
Technicians continue to clean up debris and monitor asbestos levels in the area.

SHELTON, CT — Firefighters and state environmental officials continue to work on the aftermath of the large Star Pin fire that occurred Saturday. Firefighters continue to monitor for hot spots.
Debris may have extended around a half to three-quarters of a mile from the Canal Street site, according to the Shelton Herald. Air quality results have been below EPA action levels.
Department of Energy and Environmental Protection technicians continue to comb the area collecting debris and collecting chemicals at the factory site.

Any resident that finds debris on their property should call the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection at 860-72904677 or the Shelton Police Department at 203-924-1544. Debris shouldn't be touched and samples will be gathered. Asbestos was released during the fire.
