Shelton's OPEL Technologies Appoints New VP of Sales

OPEL Technologies Inc., with offices in Shelton, which makes equipment for solar energy systems as well as related semiconductor technology, has appointed Jeffrey "Jay" Johnson as VP of North American sales.

As per a press release, Johnson will lead OPEL’s sales for the US and Canada. He has been with OPEL Solar since 2009, directing sales for the US Western region.

Prior to joining OPEL, Johnson worked with CETX Energy Agency in Houston, as well Akeena Solar in Los Gatos, Calif. He began his career at SNK Realty where he worked up through the ranks over a period of eleven years as the company grew from three employees to more than 200.

OPEL is headquartered in Toronto, Canada but also has operations offices 3 Corporate Drive, Suite 204, Shelton.

OPEL Technologies made news on Shelton Patch last month when it announced that it had from OPEL Solar International Inc. Company officials said the name change is the result of OPEL expanding into new markets. Not only is OPEL Technologies a global supplier of high concentration photovoltaic (HCPV) solar panels and solar tracker systems, it is also a semiconductor developer.

In connection with the name change and re-branding the company also announced the launch of three new websites, targeted at each of the distinct market segments it serves.
