The Huntington Green Sees Red
The holiday season comes alive with a visit from Santa!
of Shelton hosted the annual Huntington Green Tree Lighting on Sunday, Dec. For the last 16 years, Roger Spinelli, owner of www.DesignsbyRJS.com, has been donating his time and efforts to decorate the Green and its Holiday Tree all in the spirit of Christmas.
"It's the beginning of the holidays and this is a great way to bring the season alive with the festivities and to add holiday cheer to the families of Shelton," Spinelli said.
Spinelli was the 2010 recipient of The Volunteer of the Year award for Shelton presented by the .

Of course, Spinelli had a few of his own elves helping out this year. Scott Hargus of Music Teachers Network played instrumental for our Christmas carolers immediatly following Mayor Mark Lauretti's holiday greeting and the tree lighting.
"I love the lights and remembering the magic from when I was a kid. Now as an adult knowing that the kids are feeling that same magic that I did -- it makes me so happy, especially when I get to participate in making that magic!" said Hargus, who is Shelton business owner of www.mtnct.com and also donated the hot chocolate for this year's event.

However, the magic really happened when Santa arrived via fire truck by the . Santa made his way down Huntington Street and circled the Green before taking his rightful spot in the gazebo. Here he was greeted by the children who had been patiently awaiting his arrival. Santa spread his cheer with cookies and candy canes provided by RJS Designs.
