Valley Shakespeare Festival Presents 'Shakespeare in the Bar: Titus Andronicus' in Shelton

Thursday, October 30th, 5:30 pm, Porky's Cafe, 50 Center St, Shelton. Admission: $10 in advance, $15 at door includes pizza and performance.

There’s no better way to begin your Halloween weekend than with the players of Valley Shakespeare Festival as they present one of Shakespeare’s least performed and bloodiest works, Titus Andronicus.

This production comes on the heels of VSF’s hugely successful three free performances of Much Ado About Nothing held this past summer in Shelton’s Riverwalk-Veterans Park which drew crowds over 600 people . The company will perform Titus script-in-hand, with minimal costuming in the intimate setting of the upper level bar area of the Cafe.

Set in ancient Rome, Titus Andronicus is a wicked tale of betrayal, revenge, murder and mayhem sure to pique your Halloween spirit! Join Titus and the gang on his journey from heralded hero to madness (Is he really mad or is there a method to it?) to final revenge. And along the way meet the most demented, demonic and depraved company of characters ever created!

Guests are invited to arrive at 5:30 to enjoy free pizza and a cash bar until the performance begins at 6:30. Attendees will receive Halloween goody bags (while they last!) and a valuable grand prize will be awarded to the most “attentive” audience member! Admission in $10 per person in advance and $15 per person at the door.

Valley Shakespeare Festival presented that “unlucky Scottish play,” Macbeth, last March at the same venue to rave reviews, so be sure to order your tickets early as space is limited. Please visit their website, www.vsfestival.org or call 203-513-9446 to get your tickets today.
