W.E. Bassett Co. Closing Shelton Operations, Resulting in Loss of 225 Jobs

The company, which has been based in Shelton for the past 30 years, announced in November that it had been acquired by Pacific World Corp. and would be relocating its operations.

-based , maker of the Trim line of manicure sets, is reportedly moving its operations, resulting in the loss of 200 to 225 jobs in yet .

According to a report in the New Haven Register, the company, which has been based in Shelton for the past 30 years, announced in November that it had been acquired by Pacific World Corp. and would be relocating its operations.

Last month Pitney Bowes, the international communications firm, announced the opening of its new Global Technology Center in Danbury, signaling that the company will soon be moving about 170 jobs from Shelton to the new facility.

Although Pitney Bowes will be closing its facility at 35 Waterview Drive, it reportedly plans to keep its second Shelton office, where it has recovery services and an innovation center, open.

And in January, global manufacturing company announced it would be issuing pink slips to about 75 workers at its Shelton facility later this year, after deciding to send those jobs overseas.
