SIMSBURY, CT — The Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center will launch its 21st season this year with an expanded venue and a lineup that includes community events, tribute acts, nationally touring performers and Grammy Award-winning artists.
Construction on the venue's expansion began in September 2025 and is nearing completion.
Improvements include new artist dressing rooms, a green room, and safety upgrades.
"The expansion of Simsbury Meadows was made possible by a public-private collaboration with the State of Connecticut, the Town of Simsbury, and many generous local donors, and we're very grateful," Simsbury Meadows Executive Director Allie Young said in a statement. "We're thrilled that the realization of our longtime goal is already enabling us to draw the caliber of artists our supporters want to see."
The renovated facility on Iron Horse Boulevard will host several returning community events beginning in June, including the UConn Health Half Marathon June 6, the MS Walk on Sunday, June 7, and the five-town Juneteenth Celebration on June 20.
The Hartford Symphony Orchestra's Talcott Mountain Music Festival returns July 3 with its annual "Celebrate America" concert and fireworks display.
Additional festival performances include tribute concerts featuring the music of Journey, Chicago, the Eagles and 1980s MTV-era hits throughout July.
August will feature a series of headline performances.
Indie folk band The 502s is scheduled to perform Aug. 14, followed by a rock festival featuring music associated with No Doubt, Sublime and Foo Fighters on Aug. 15.
The venue's highest-profile performance of the season is expected Aug. 22, when the Grammy Award-winning Indigo Girls take the stage.
Simsbury Meadows officials said many stops on the duo's 2026 tour have sold out nationwide.
Family-focused programming will return Aug. 28 with a performance by Rock and Roll Playhouse, an interactive concert experience designed for young children and their families.
The fall schedule includes FAVARH's annual fundraising event featuring Mike DelGuidice on Sept. 5, the Simsbury Junior Women's Club Arts & Crafts Festival on Sept. 19, and the Simsbury-Granby Rotary River Run later in the month.
Country music singer-songwriter Jason Blaine is scheduled to perform Oct. 3. Blaine has recorded more than a dozen Top 10 country singles and has written songs for several Nashville recording artists.
Officials said the expanded venue is expected to enhance the audience experience while helping attract larger events and performers to Simsbury.
