Simsbury Trojan Youth Football League Moves To Shoreline Conference

The Simsbury Trojan Youth Football Board of Directors is pleased to announce the organizations new affiliation with ShoreLine Youth Football Conference beginning with the upcoming 2012 season. 

The SYFL Board of Directors believes that their program is a “good fit” for the SYFC for a number of reasons.  They share similar program philosophies with the SYFC member associations and align well demographically with these towns.  They believe playing towns with similar philosophies and population bases will allow them to further their own goals of instilling children with life-long values of teamwork, dedication, and superior work ethic both in the classroom and on the playing field, and providing a safe, enjoyable and memorable football and cheerleading experience for all participating children.

SYFC has been in existence for 29 years, and the 2012 season will mark their 30th season. They are a stable and well run conference who pride themselves on sportsmanship and fair competition.  SYFC’s major goal is to provide the largest number of youth a positive experience in the game of football.  Their three main objectives are that the participants must have FUN, should learn the values of Team Sports and Discipline, and should learn the Fundamentals of the Game of Football.  SYFC is a member of American Youth Football.  They follow the All-American / Grade Based format for football play in which SYFL strongly believes. 

A great deal of research, analysis, and consideration occurred prior to the Board of Directors decision.  Survey results and feedback from participating families, discussions with other football and cheer organizations, research on current demographics on existing football conferences in the area as well as research from the MAYO clinic are just some examples of data and research collected.  All information was carefully analyzed and considered during the decision making process.
