This is the second high-profile dumping incident reported at a Simsbury recreational site in as many months.

SIMSBURY, CT — For the second time in as many months, careless people have turned a beloved Simsbury recreational site into a garbage dump.
The Simsbury Culture, Parks & Recreation Department revealed Friday, Oct. 18, that someone dumped old furniture at Curtiss Park near the Farmington River.
Curtiss Park is located at 61 Tariffville Road (Route 135) and boasts of "four soccer fields" and "is also a popular gathering place for canoeists and fisherman and is also available for camping."

"We are very frustrated to report that someone has chosen to dump their old furniture at Curtiss Park near the Farmington River."
The town posted images showing the furniture in the woods at the pristine recreational site.
This is the second high-profile dumping incident afflicting a local rec facility.
Early last month, the town reported that vandals dumped piles of trash dumped at the town's Pinchot Sycamore Tree Park over the Labor Day holiday weekend.
That park is located below the Route 185 bridge and serves as the home of the Pinchot Sycamore Tree, which happens to be the oldest such tree in the state and serves as the town symbol of Simsbury.
Anyone with information regarding the Curtiss Park incident is asked to contact the Simsbury Police Department at 860-658-3100.
