Shortly After West Hartford Robbery, Simsbury Reports Attempted Bank Robbery
The suspect didn't display a weapon and didn't make off with any money, police said.

SIMSBURY, CT — Shortly after a Webster Bank branch was reportedly robbed in West Hartford, police in nearby Simsbury report an attemptd robbery at a Webster branch there.
The Simsbury Police Department said Friday afternoon that at about 11:05 a.m., local police were called about an attempted robbery at the Webster Bank at 708 Hopmeadow St.
In a statement released at about 3:15 p.m. Friday, police said the suspect, who was pictured in a surveillance still, showed a note to the bank employee demanding money.

Ultimately, the suspect fled the bank and wasn't given any cash and police said there was no threat of any weapon.
Police said the suspect has been described as a Black male, about 6-feet-tall, wearing blue jeans and a gray sweatshirt and a black balaclava that partially covered his face.

The suspect's appearance is similar to what West Hartford police posted regarding a bank robbery in that town earlier in the morning.
