Bear Put Down After Entering Simsbury Home
EnCon police said the bear has entered several homes in the past, based on its ear tag.

SIMSBURY, CT — Just days after release of the latest Department of Energy and Environmental Protection report indicating Simsbury has become the state leader in reported bear sightings, a bear was put down after entering a local home Saturday morning.
EnCon police said based on its ear tag, the bear was the same one which had entered several homes in 2018.
Based on sightings reported between April 19, 2018 and April 14 of this year, Simsbury had the most reported sightings in Connecticut with 618, displacing former number one Farmington, which had 520.
