Beloved Simsbury School Cop Gets Promoted
Simsbury schools said goodbye to a longtime school resource officer recently promoted to a new role in the police department.

SIMSBURY, CT — When the Simsbury Police Department put out a hysterical video last August about children returning to school, one of the stars was longtime school resource officer Todd Kushman.
Sadly for the schools, but good news for him, Kushman has been promoted to sergeant after 17 years on the force, 10 as a school resource officer for the elementary and middle schools.
This week, Kushman was honored by students and school staff, according to WFSB Channel 3, in a poignant ceremony where the school community said "goodbye" and "congratulations" at the same time.
