Partake in a blast form the past and watch 1924's Sherlock Jr., starring Buster Keaton. This 102 year old silent movie will be accompanied by live piano by Caleb Smith.
Film accompanist Caleb Smith is a private student of the old art form of accompanying silent movies. His interest in the pastime stems from seeing piano accompanists in person and on video, and after making acquaintance with local silent film pianist and scholar, Patrick Miller. Caleb was a student at The Hartt School in West Hartford, and studied keyboard with Professor emeritus Greg Babal and jazz piano with Matt DeChamplain. He enjoys researching the history of the arts and music in the Northeast and Connecticut in particular. His great aunt was a silent film pianist for Tariffville and Greater Simsbury in the early 20th century.
