Think of fall clean up as a three-pronged approach: there are the “must-dos’, the “can-dos,” and the “nice to dos.” This approach is applicable whether you clean up the traditional way or whether you take the newer approach which advocates “Leaving the Leaves,” and pushes much of the “clean-up, if any, into the spring to protect over-wintering pollinators.
