Coronavirus Simsbury: First Cases Confirmed In Town
As of early Wednesday afternoon, a total of 875 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported among Connecticut residents.
SIMSBURY, CT — As concerns continue to mount over the new coronavirus pandemic, Simsbury has joined the list of towns containing confirmed patients as the Connecticut Department of Public Health has released the latest figures.
As of 2 p.m. Wednesday, 875 laboratory-confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported among state residents, with confirmed cases now reported in all eight Connecticut counties. A total of 113 patients were hospitalized, and 19 residents have died (12 in Fairfield County, three in Tolland County and two each in Hartford and New Haven counties).

Hartford County has 116 confirmed cases, with 24 patients hospitalized, and the first three confirmed cases have been reported in Simsbury. The most confirmed cases are in Fairfield County with 546, accounting for 62.4 percent of the state's total.
