Cumberland Farms Employee Assaulted During Robbery: Simsbury PD
The employee was punched in the face during a "strong-arm robbery" early Wednesday morning in Simsbury, according to police.
SIMSBURY, CT — A Cumberland Farms employee was punched in the face during a robbery early Wednesday morning in Simsbury, according to police.
Police responded to Cumberland Farms at 151 Hopmeadow St. around 5:20 a.m. on the report of a “strong-arm robbery,” according to Deputy Chief Christopher Davis.
The employee told police that a group of four people entered the store. One of them tried to distract the employee, while another went behind the counter and started stealing money from the cash register, according to Davis.

When the employee confronted the suspects, the employee was punched in the face and the robbers left the area in a vehicle with an undetermined amount of cash and cigarettes, Davis said.
