Got A Beef With The Gov't? Hayes Expands Program Into Simsbury

SIMSBURY, CT — Residents with a beef with the U.S. government can now have their voices heard in Simsbury thanks to U.S. Rep. Jahana Hayes, D-5th District.

Hayes has created the "Casework on Your Corner" program, where case workers with her office meet with constituents during open office hours at a given town's site in the district.

Wednesday, Hayes' office announced the expansion of this program into Simsbury.

Throughout 2025, Eno Memorial Hall will host Hayes staffers on the second Wednesday of each month for ‘Casework on Your Corner’ office hours.

The first event in Simsbury was slated to be Wednesday, Jan. 8, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 754 Hopmeadow St., Simsbury.

Future office hours are: Feb. 12; March 12; April 9; May 14; June 11; July 21; Aug. 13; Sept. 10; Oct. 8; Nov. 12: and Dec. 10.

Caseworkers will be on-site to help residents with issues involving federal agencies such as the Social Security Administration (SSA), the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), among others.

“As my office works to serve the people of the 5th District, our successful Casework on Your Corner continues to help constituents better access federal resources,” said Hayes in a statement released Wednesday.

“This year, we are expanding the program to Simsbury so more residents can meet with our team and we can open cases in real-time.”

Hayes and her casework staff are available to help constituents navigate problems with any federal agency including the Social Security Administration (SSA); U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA); Internal Revenue Service (IRS); U.S. Department of State (DOS); U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS); and the U.S. Postal Service (USPS).
