Hartford Symphony Orchestra Inks New Deal With Simsbury Meadows

The agreement to host the Talcott Mountain Music Festival is extended through 2020.

The Hartford Symphony Orchestra and the Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center have signed a new, five year agreement to host the Talcott Mountain Music Festival at Simsbury Meadows through 2020.

The 2015 Talcott Mountain Music Festival was the most successful and well-attended in its 20-year history, including a capacity audience for the annual Celebrate America concert, which has become a summer holiday tradition for families all across Connecticut.

“Not only is the Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center a beautiful facility with an exceptional staff, but the entire Town of Simsbury has made us feel like family. There is no better place for the Talcott Mountain Music Festival to call home and we are honored to be a partner through 2020,” said Steve Collins, Director of Artistic Operations and Administration for the Hartford Symphony Orchestra.

“We are delighted that Simsbury will be the summer home of the Hartford Symphony through a quarter century,” said Dave Ryan, President of the Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center’s Board of Directors. “The Symphony’s summer program and Simsbury Meadows Performing Arts Center have grown up together. From a modest beginning 20 years ago, to an audience of 10,000 at this year’s Fourth of July concert, the Talcott Mountain Music Festival is healthy and vibrant, poised for an exciting future at Simsbury Meadows.”

The 2016 Talcott Mountain Music Festival program will be announced early next year.
