SIMSBURY, CT — Local leaders are seeking budgetary input on town spending and taxes at a special public hearing early next week.
The Simsbury Board of Finance will host a public hearing on Tuesday, April 4, at 6 p.m. at the Simsbury Public Library, Tariffville Room, 725 Hopmeadow St., Simsbury.

Copies of proposed budget, anticipated revenues, proposed expenditures and the amount to be raised by taxation for the ensuing fiscal year are available in the Simsbury Town Clerk's Office and posted on the town website at www.simsbury-ct.gov/budget.
The proposed annual operating budgets of the Simsbury Board of Selectmen, Simsbury Board of Education and proposed capital improvement projects will be presented at the hearing.

For those who can't attend the hearing, folks can offer input to town officials on budget and tax matters via the town's website.
A recently completed revaluation has prompted a shift in taxes with new assessments possibly meaning higher values and, possibly, higher taxes.
The town's spending plan will tentatively be decided at the polls on May 2.
