SIMSBURY, CT =— Simsbury officials are accepting nominations for the town’s 2026 Hometown Hero Award, an annual recognition honoring individuals or groups whose service has significantly benefited the community.
Established in 1986, the program recognizes residents, former residents, or individuals and groups actively involved in Simsbury.
Nominees must have made contributions that provide a clear and meaningful impact on the town.

Eligibility rules exclude current town staff, sitting elected officials, and anyone who has financially benefited from the work being recognized.
However, appointed members of boards or commissions may be considered if the achievements cited fall outside the scope of their official duties.

Town officials said all eligible nominations will be reviewed, with selections based on the significance of service and overall community benefit.
Nominations must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30.
Applicants are required to complete a nomination form and provide a detailed explanation of why the individual or group deserves the designation.
