LETTER: Reelect John Hampton to Represent Simsbury
Opinions expressed are those of the letter writer and do not necessarily reflect the views of Patch Media. Opposing viewpoints are welcomed.

We support John Hampton for reelection in the 16th District for the CT House of Representatives. He has the knowledge and experience to continue to represent Simsbury. He has walked in our neighborhoods and knocked on many doors in his ongoing effort to listen to his constituents.
The skills and knowledge that John Hampton exhibits have come from serving on the Simsbury Board of Selectmen for eight years. And since 2012, he has effectively represented us at the state level. When he speaks or casts a vote, he does so based on the needs of his district.
We are both retired teachers, and we can attest to John’s concerns for his constituents. The CT legislature has failed to keep its commitment to adequately fund the retired teachers health insurance. As a result, many teachers had to lose their original Medicare coverage and move to a private insurance company. Many teachers shared their displeasure with the Teachers Retirement Board and also reached out to their elected officials. John Hampton answered the call and helped bring together retired teachers from Simsbury and others in the Farmington Valley to hear their concerns and seek measures to address the problem.

This is the type of response you can expect when you vote for John Hampton on November 6th. We have seen first hand that knowledge, experience and commitment matter greatly in our elected representatives.
