Date/Time: Saturday, March 19, 2016; 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Simsbury United Methodist Church invites you to a free workshop, “Praying in Color,” based on the book written by Sybil MacBeth, facilitated by Lay Servant Deb Clifford and local artist, Lori Racicot-Burrous. Participants will learn how doodling in color can be a creative way to spend time with God. No artistic experience necessary.
Deb Clifford is an experienced facilitator, coach, teacher and speaker with an extensive background in business, communication and human resources. Her specialization is in organization, team and leadership development. She works as an Organization Development practitioner for Travelers Insurance. She founded her non-profit organization, Inspired Church, to utilize her years of experience working with leaders, teams and organizations enable church organizations to become strong, vibrant and inspired. Deb's home church is Simsbury United Methodist where she has been an active member for over 30 years. She works with leaders and churches throughout the New York Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church whenever she is able. For more information, see www.inspiredpeople.com

Lori Racicot-Burrous is a professional artist who has resided in Simsbury and attended Simsbury United Methodist Church for the past eight years. Through her artwork, Lori expresses her inner thoughts and emotions and represents the world as she sees it, while unleashing tension, allowing for self-discovery, and sharing her God-given gift. Lori’s work is in collections throughout the United States, has been accepted into juried shows, published in the two issues of Somerset Studio – The Art of Paper and Mixed-Media magazine, and chosen as the image for the 2015 CT Historic Gardens Day poster. In addition to painting, Lori teaches painting classes and workshops. She is a member of Simsbury Open Studios, Avon Arts Association, the West Hartford Art League, and Woman Artists in Connecticut.
The workshop is free and open to the public. A good-will offering will be collected to purchase art supplies for future workshops.
