Simsbury To Address Affordable Housing Issues

SIMSBURY, CT — A local group looking to improve diversity in Simsbury is looking at the need for affordable housing as one means to that end.

As a result, the Simsbury Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Council will host a panel discussion on Simsbury housing data, pathways and obstacles to developing more affordable and inclusive housing.

The event is Wednesday, Nov. 9, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Simsbury Public Library's "Friends of the Library Program Room," 725 Hopmeadow St., Simsbury.

The panel will be moderated by Simsbury Planning & Community Development Director George McGregor.

Simsbury's DEI Council was created in 2019 to help the town be more inclusive of all types of people and a more affordable housing stock is seen as one way toward that end.
