Simsbury Man Charged With Narcotics, Weapons Offenses
He is being held on three-quarters of a million dollar bond after a warrant was executed by several law enforcement agencies.
SIMSBURY, CT — An investigation into alleged narcotics activity at a Route 10 house led to the recent arrest of a local man on numerous drug and weapons charges.
State police, in conjunction with a Statewide Narcotics Task Force - North Central Field Office, the U.S. Postal Inspector's office, the Hartford office of Homeland Security Investigations and the Simsbury Police Department, executed a narcotics-related search warrant at 643 Hopmeadow Street, where they arrested John Moynihan, 51.
Moynihan was found to be in possession of multiple types of narcotics, controlled substances and firearms, including THC edibles, mushrooms and marijuana, police said.

He is charged with six counts of criminal possession of a firearm, possession of a sawed-off shotgun, possession of hallucinogens, possession of hallucinogens with intent to sell, possession of greater than 1 KG of marijuana with intent to sell, operating a drug factory and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Bail was set at $750,000, and he was slated to appear Monday in Enfield Superior Court.
