
Francis V. Coderre, 90, of Bloomfield, beloved husband of the late Charlotte (Newton) Coderre and the late Loretta (Bassano) Coderre, passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Monday, October 26, 2015.
Born in North Grosvenordale, son of the late Francis and Yvonne (Martin) Coderre, he was raised there and lived in Simsbury many years moving to Bloomfield thirty years ago. Francis served in the US Navy during WWII on the USS Arkansas and was employed by the Ensign Bickford Co. 30 years, retiring in 1985.
Gifted with a beautiful tenor voice, he was an opera singer performing in numerous operas, and with his late wife Loretta, ministered with singing to the elderly in nursing homes throughout the area. He was a member of the Connecticut Opera and was one of the founders of the Church of the Living God and had a leadership role in the Full Gospel Business Men’s Association. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed riding.

He leaves his son Peter Coderre (Jeanne) of Mechanicsburg, PA; three daughters Coreen Faraco (Nicholas), Patrice Waltz (Peter) and Catherine Chhabra (Brad) all of Barkhamsted; 9 grandchildren Nicole Ellrod, Meryl Frey, Erin Cartona, Bryan Waltz, Matthew Waltz, Laura Waltz, Megan Fraver, Christopher Coderre, and Alexis Chhabra; 9 great grandchildren, Madison, Jackson, Aiden, Evan, William, Benjamin, Brooklyn, Riley, and Xander; several nieces and nephews; and his wife, Loretta’s, family. Besides his wives, he was predeceased by a son Timothy Coderre, a great granddaughter Charlotte Frey, and two sisters Rachel Haggerty and Marcella Choiniere.
His family would like to extend special thanks to his caregiver Ernestina Orleans-Lindsay and the staff of Meadowbrook of Granby for their exceptional care and support.

His family will receive friends Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015 from 5-8 PM at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon. A Memorial service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015, 11 AM at the Covenant Presbyterian Church (The Barn), 124 Old Farms Road, Simsbury. A reception will follow the service. Burial will be in Simsbury Cemetery with military honors at the convenience of the family.
