Simsbury Postpones Pot Store Hearing, Selectmen Meeting
Citing scheduling conflicts with the state's Lincoln's Birthday holiday, Simsbury has rescheduled a hearing on cannabis operations.

SIMSBURY, CT — Scheduling conflicts caused by the state holiday on Monday have prompted Simbury town officials to re-juggle schedules for a key meeting and key public hearing on cannabis operations next week.
The regularly scheduled Simsbury Board of Selectmen meeting slated for Monday, Feb. 13, which is Lincoln's Birthday, was canceled, according to town officials this week.
That board, instead, will next meet on Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 6 p.m. in Simsbury Town Hall's main meeting room.

One of the originally slated items up for discussoin Monday night, however, will not happen on Wednesday.
A public hearing was scheduled to take place Feb. 13 regarding a proposed ordinance that would ban retail cannabis establishments in town.

The State of Connecticut has legalized recreational pot, but towns have the ability to govern whether it wants to legally allow retail operations in their respective communities.
In Simsbury, the public hearing to address that issue was rescheduled to Monday, Feb. 27, at 6 p.m. in the main meeting room of Simsbury Town Hall.
