Simsbury Seeks 'Hometown Heroes' Nominations

SIMSBURY, CT — The town Monday announced it is looking for nominations for the town's most prestigious civic honor, the "Hometown Hero Awards."

Since 1986, Simsbury has designated and recognized outstanding individuals for their service to the community.

All nominees must meet the following criteria:

• A person(s) who is a resident, or who is active in the Simsbury community, or who lived in Simsbury during the time period under consideration;
• The acts and services recognized have a "real and perceived benefit to the Town of Simsbury."
• A nominee may not be a member of town staff, nor a sitting elected official, or have benefited economically from his/her endeavors on behalf of the town.

No nominee shall excluded from consideration when the qualities and activities under consideration are outside the scope of their official duties, according to the town.

To nominate an individual or group, fill out the form below specifying why the person should be given this designation.

Nominations must be submitted by 6 p.m. on Monday, April 29, in an envelope mailed to Simsbury Town Hall addressed to the Town Manager’s Office, Town of Simsbury, 933 Hopmeadow St., Simsbury, CT 06070; via email to townmanager@simsbury-ct.gov; or by filling out an online form by clicking here.
