While the bills are "due" July 1, in actualality, taxpayers have the whole month of July to pay the taxes without penalty.

To avoid a late fee, taxes must be paid by Aug. 1. (Postmarks of Aug. 1, 2023 will be accepted)

By state law, failure to receive a tax bill does not exempt someone from paying taxes. Taxpayers can print a bill from the online system. www.simsbury-ct.gov/tax

The Town of Simsbury offered up some tips on paying taxes this year. They include:

  • If you don’t want to come in and wait in line, there is a secured drop box at the entrance of Simsbury Town Hall. This will be checked and emptied throughout the day. Please make sure your check is in an envelope marked Tax Office.
  • Payments can be mailed to the town’s lockbox address — Town of Simsbury P.O. Box 4156 Woburn, Mass., 01888-4156. (A blue envelope was included with the bill) This is Liberty Bank's payment processing center for the Town of Simsbury which the town has had for over 12 years.
  • Folks can mail payments to Town of Simsbury- Tax Office 933 Hopmeadow St., Simsbury CT 06070.
  • They can also pay online and it’s free with an electronic check at www.simsbury-ct.gov/tax. All debit/credit cards have a 2.99 percent convenience fee on the total payment. This is not a town fee, but is from the credit card vendor.
