Simsbury's Ambulance Provider Seeks Public Input

The Simsbury Volunteer Ambulance Association is opening up its annual meeting Dec. 10 for public comment regarding the service it provides.

SIMSBURY, CT — Town officials are asking folks interested in local ambulance services to attend the annual meeting next week of Simsbury's ambulance provider.

Simsbury Town Manager Marc Nelson said the Simsbury Volunteer Ambulance Association is inviting the public to attend its annual meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 7 p.m.

The meeting will be at the SVAA's headquarters at 4 Old Mill Lane in Simsbury.

Recently, Nelson said, the Simsbury Board of Selectmen authorized a three-year memorandum of understanding with the SVAA which calls for the deployment of an additional response unit, among other changes.

Nelson said one of the changes recently implemented calls for a public comment period at the annual meeting, as well as for meeting notices, agendas and other documents of interest to the public to be posted on its website.

"We encourage members of the public who would like to comment regarding any aspect of the SVAA operation or the new agreement with the town, to attend the annual meeting on December 10," said Nelson recently in a statement.
