Simsbury's Public Ice Rink Opens For Season Saturday
The Simsbury Farms Ice Rink, operated by the town, starts is season on Nov. 4 and it continues until March 10, 2024.
SIMSBURY, CT — If local folks need more reminders the cold weather is approaching (or here), they need only look at the Simsbury Farms Ice Rink for further validation.
That's because the rink officially opens to the public for the 2023-24 season on Saturday, Nov. 4, with a whole slew of programs and fun available. The season runs from Nov. 4 to March 10.
Located at 100 Old Farms Road, the town-operated facility is not to be confused with the independent International Skating Center of Connecticut at 1375 Hopmeadow St., Simsbury.

Still, the ice is just as frozen as the world-class facility built in the 1990s amid figure skating's massive renaissance, when Ukrainian Oksana Baiul relocated to Connecticut after winning the 1994 Olympic gold medal. (She won the competition that was dominated by the Tonya Harding-Nancy Kerrigan affair.)
Simsbury Farms features relatively affordable family skating programs that provide public access to some frozen recreation when the weather is cold and biting.

For example, folks can skate for $5 if they're Simsbury residents and $7 if they're not.
In addition, Simsbury Farms features all sorts of programs offering lessons, pick-up ice hockey and other fun activities on the ice.
