Simsbury's Wellman Picks Up Colleague's Endorsement

SIMSBURY, — State Rep. Eleni Kavros DeGraw, D-Avon, Monday endorsed Simsbury Selectman Eric Wellman in the Democratic primary for the 16th District General Assembly seat.

Wellman is being challenged by petitioning candidate Melissa Osborne on Aug. 9.

“When someone who has served as first selectman like Eric Wellman comes to the legislature, the chamber is better for it,” said Kavros DeGraw.

“Eric will be an important voice in helping our colleagues—especially those who don’t have local government experience—understand even more clearly the impact our decisions at the Capitol have on the municipal level.”

Kavros DeGraw was elected in November 2020 to represent the 17th House District in Avon and Canton.

Wellman received the party’s endorsement in May.
