Storyteller's Cottage to Host NaNoWriMo Kickoff Writing Retreat

On Saturday, November 2, from 1:00-6:00 pm, the Storyteller’s Cottage will host a NaNoWriMo Kickoff Writing Retreat for writers to kick off their National Novel Writing Month challenge. Participants of this retreat will be able to spend five hours getting a jump start on their 50,000-word manuscript for NaNoWriMo. They will enjoy fun writing games, contests, and lots of brainpower-enhancing snacks! There will be plenty of writing time, and helpful professional authors will be around to offer advice or a push where it’s needed.

NaNoWriMo is an annual, national creative writing project that takes place throughout the month of November. Participants have from November 1 to November 30 to write a 50,000-word manuscript. Since its inception in 1999, hundreds of thousands of writers have participated in NaNoWriMo, and hundreds of novels written for this challenge have been published.

The Storyteller’s Cottage is located in a vintage Victorian house in the center of historic Simsbury, CT, and hosts all manner of immersive literary events throughout the year, including Agatha Christie inspired live murder mystery parties, Great Gatsby themed Jazz Supper Clubs, fascinating close-up illusions at Fine Parlor Magic nights, a Literary Dinner Party series on select evenings at midnight, and more.
