Tiffany Stevens' Witnesses: No $50M Trust Fund; Handyman and Ex- Framed Her

Tiffany Stevens' defense rested its case Monday after one witness said a key prosecution witness plotted with her ex-husband to frame her.

Tiffany Stevens’ father, Edward Khalily testified in her murder-for-hire trial Monday that there was no $50-million trust fund for his granddaughter that the winner of a custody dispute would get to control, according to various reports.

That testimony came the same day that Stevens’ defense rested its case. After taking a day off due to expected bad weather, the public trial arguments are expected to conclude Wednesday, when the jury could begin deliberations, according to an article in the Hartford Courant.

Stevens is charged with plotting with a handyman to have her ex-husband killed. The handyman, John McDaid, has testified that he instead told her husband about the plot, told police and then made two recordings in which prosecutors say Tiffany Stevens is heard confirming that she wanted McDaid to murder her ex-husband, Eric Stevens, the Courant reported.
