100 Trees Illegally Cut On Southbury Open Space: Report

The local resident said it was an accident and he wants to resolve the matter.

SOUTHBURY, CT — Alan Chester Salzman, who is an attorney, is accused of having someone cut more than 100 trees on town property on Kuhne Road and local officials say they plan to hold him accountable, the Republican-American reports.

Some of the trees were more than 125 years old and legal action is expected to be taken. Salzman told the Rep-Am that the incident was an accident as he paid some men about $400 cash to cut trees on his property but he later saw that they went too far in their cutting.

Salzman stressed that he never ordered them to cut the town-owned trees and wants to resolve the matter with the town.
