SOUTHBURY, CT — Aquarion Water Company has begun a water main replacement project in Southbury that is expected to continue through November.
The project, which started June 15, includes the replacement of approximately 7,435 feet of water main on Lakemere Drive, White Birch Drive, White Pine Road, Hi Low Road, Hornet Nest Road, Indian Trail, Rock Ridge Road and Hilltop Trail.
According to Aquarion, the work is part of an ongoing effort to improve the company's water distribution system, reduce leaks and help prevent water main breaks that can lead to service interruptions.
"We greatly appreciate residents' patience during this project," Aaron Nezvesky, Aquarion's manager of utility programs, said in a statement. "We will work closely with our customers, contractors and town officials to coordinate the work and minimize any disruptions."
Residents should expect minor traffic delays and possible detours during construction hours, which are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Aquarion said final paving will be completed in coordination with the town after the project wraps up.
