• Republican-American calendar for Saturday, Oct. 10 (ncadvertiser.com) — Southbury Parks and Recreation is in the middle of its week-long Outdoor Movie Night and Fall Festival, with most activities free for residents and running through Oct. 16. From Saturday's kickoff on Town Hall Green to pumpkin carving, a children's costume parade, and a sensory-friendly movie showing, most events require advance registration and encourage nonperishable donations for the Southbury Food Bank.
