Southbury Arts and Culture Alliance Partners with Sustainable Southbury for a Fundraiser Event

Southbury, CT - The Southbury Arts & Culture Alliance (SACA) is thrilled to team up once again with Sustainable Southbury for a community bottle and can collection fundraiser on Sunday, August 3rd, Noon to 2:00 PM, 800 Main Street South, Southbury.

Bring your redeemable bottles and cans. All donation funds at 10¢ per item will go to SACA!

SACA has officially transitioned into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, positioning the organization for broader programming, grant opportunities, and long-term sustainability in support of its mission, “To promote, inspire, encourage, and support arts and culture within our community”.

Proceeds from this August 3 event will directly support SACA’s ongoing and upcoming initiatives like Art in the Park, Southbury Chalk Walk, Make Music Day, Artist of the Year program, as well as its popular monthly Makers Spotlight Newsletter and Arts Calendar. New community programs will also be announced soon!

Sort plastic bottles by size: under 1 liter, 1 liter, and 2 liters. Cans can go in the same bag as bottles <1 liter. Glass bottles must be brought in cardboard boxes to avoid breakage. Starting September 7th, EyeRecycle will require aluminum cans to be in separate bags from the plastic bottles.

An express lane is available for those using EyeRecycle bags with fill lines for easy counting. Bags are available for purchase on site, and volunteers will assist with transferring your bottles and cans. Used inkjet cartridges will also be accepted to benefit Sustainable Southbury.

There is no Southbury residency requirement—everyone’s welcome. Just drive up, drop off, and support two great causes in one go.

"This event is a simple way to do good for the environment and for Southbury’s growing arts scene," said Chuck Litty of Sustainable Southbury. "And with SACA now a nonprofit, your support goes even further."
